Hey all!
I just gave you the update on May 2018 last week and now we are onto June.
Stuff in June 2018:
-Celebrated pride month AND national donut day.
-Went to some graduation parties.
And was highly jealous that one of them wasn’t mine. 😉
-Started going on walks after work.
-Went to a College World Series game.
We haven’t been in years, but Dave’s sister and husband treated us.
And we said yes because #beingsocial2018.
-Went to see Tag with some coworkers.
It was an okay movie, but it made work more fun starting our own game of tag.
-Had sushi with one of my teaching friends.
More socializing and even meeting a new person. This is a big deal for this introvert.
I swear I’m not crazy with all this “being social” stuff. I just realized for the past couple of years that I felt like I was all alone with no friends. I suddenly had this idea that maybe I need to be a good friend to have friends. Maybe I need to actually go to the things I’m invited to. Maybe all I needed to do was to say, “yes” and hang out with people even when I’m a little tired and a little busy.
So far, it’s been working. I realized I actually DO have friends and opportunities to make connections. I just wasn’t taking them.
-Celebrated Father’s Day with the Best Dad Ever.
We ate at Village Inn which was grandma Rose’s favorite place to eat.
-Went to Dave’s family reunion in Clearwater, Nebraska.
It was lovely to get out of the “big city” and hang out with relatives I’ve never met before.
[ Little Christmas in July action. ]
-Did an outdoor workout in midtown with some friends.
I nearly died, but I’m glad I tried it.
-Last, but not least, I realized I was addicted to Starbucks refreshers.
See the next update on how I remedied this. 🙂
